The sound action MAMA – for ten performers, various objects and materials – is designed for the spaces of the Municipal Museum of Modern Art in Ascona on the occasion of the exhibition Joana Vasconcelos. Flowers of My Desire.

The performers, positioned on the two floors of the museum around the inner courtyard, produce sound events with everyday objects and materials. A constellation of micro-scenes distributed across the four balconies and two windows, in a sequence that reflects the architectural structure of the museum. Sound, space, time: the museum is transformed into a large instrument and – around the audience watching from below, on the ground floor – MAMA breathes like a living sculpture.
